Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Director of Ticket Operations is responsibile for the oversight of all ticket operations for football including, but not limited to, the allocation of priority seating and parking as well as game management for all regular season events. Develop and coordinate strategies and timelines for football renewals and collaborate with marketing staff as well as other external units as it relates to the maximizing of revenue and attendance for football. Oversee the Assistant Director of Ticket Operations providing management, direction and leadership to this role. Additionally, this position is responsible for Ticket Office customer service initiatives with a focus on building relationships with current and prospective fans. Serve as primary ticketing contact for all campus partners. Provide supervision for ACS (Athletics Software Platform) and lead efforts on complimentary ticket distribution for student-athletes, recruits, and coaches. Monitor and update ticket website. Provide recommendations and strategy to drive online ticket sales with a focus on enhancing customer experience and mobile applications. Serve as ticket office representative on ICA external team. Serve as the Ticket office representative for away football games, bowl games. The Director of Ticket Operations must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with season ticket holders and donors by providing a superior level of customer service; and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required.
Experience:
- A minimum of four-five years of experience in collegiate or professional ticket operations is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff.
- Demonstrated experience with Paciolan ticketing software required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; must be highly organized and efficient as well as detail oriented with the ability to set goals and monitor progress.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team and exercise professional judgment when interacting with customers to ensure a superior level of customer service within a fast paced environment.
- Must possess the ability to exercise professional judgment when interacting with customers to ensure a superior level of customer service.
- Must be able to motivate staff to perform, set a positive example and demonstrate a proven ability to cultivate interpersonal relationships with fans as well as internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Commitment to following University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA rules.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which includes some evenings, weekend and holidays. Some team travel may be required.
Preferences:
- Extensive knowledge of Paciolan is preferred.
- Experience working within an NCAA Division I athletic ticket office is preferred.
